I am a bit of a geek and thats fine by me. This blog is my tribute to my grandad who I lost earlier this year. Always one full of tall tales that a  boy could relate to, I have spent many an hour listening to him. He was a seaman through and through and kept trying to encourage me. Unfortunately I was then and still am very prone to mal de mer or sea sickness, but that never stopped me enjoying my grandads tales of the sea- in fact prefered that to him actually taking me on a boat or ship. The ones I like the best where always about the North west Passage which he assured me he had sailed, if he did I do not know and his stories are all finished now. Thinking about his stories coming to an end made me sad and I decided I would follow through on his stories in my own way. So this blog will explore the North west passage, its history, geography and current state and anything else that catches my fancy on it. This is my  tribute to a great old man. RIP Grandad.
